New Airline for BWI Marshall Expands Travel Options, Adds Two New Routes
To Vero Beach and Burlington

October 1, 2026 – Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport today celebrated the inaugural flight from Breeze Airways, marking the launch of a new airline in the market. Breeze began roundtrip service between BWI Marshall and Vero Beach, Florida Thursday. The airline will add roundtrip service between BWI Marshall and Burlington, Vermont on Sunday. Growing airline service and expanding travel options at BWI Marshall to meet the needs of residents, business and visitors is a priority under the Moore-Miller Administration.

“Welcoming a new airline to the region’s premier airport is a moment to celebrate and a major achievement for the people of Maryland under the Moore-Miller Administration,” said Maryland Department of Transportation Secretary Katie Thomson. “New airlines and new routes will help boost Maryland’s economy by strengthening connections and expanding opportunities for tourism and business development.”

The Breeze flights to both markets will operate three times per week, on Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday. Breeze currently operates more than 300 year-round and seasonal routes to 91 cities in the United States, Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean on its new, efficient Airbus A220-300 aircraft. Travel and ticketing details are available on the airline’s website, flybreeze.com, or the Breeze Airways app.

“Today is a great day for our airport and the communities we serve as we welcome Breeze Airways,” said Shannetta Griffin, Executive Director/CEO of BWI Thurgood Marshall Airport. “We are excited to partner with Breeze and look forward to connecting our state and region to even more destinations.”

The inaugural Breeze flight today was celebrated at BWI Marshall with a water cannon salute from the airport’s fire and rescue department, a gate celebration with passengers and a ribbon cutting. The celebration brought together airport and airline representatives and passengers to mark the occasion.

“We believe affordable travel should still feel premium, and that’s exactly what we’re bringing to Baltimore,” said David Neeleman, founder and CEO of Breeze Airways. “With Breeze’s high-value, low-cost model, we’re excited to welcome Baltimore Guests on board and show them what Seriously Nice™ travel feels like.”
