Airport Cracks the Top 10 for U.S. Gateways in New Survey

June 18, 2026 – Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport was recognized as one of the top-performing U.S. airports in the 2026 AirHelp Score. BWI Marshall secured the tenth-highest score among U.S. airports in the annual survey. The scoring reflects the airport’s continued commitment to customer service while serving as a major transportation asset and economic development engine.

The comprehensive AirHelp Score examines data related to on-time performance, passenger satisfaction and the quality of aviation facilities to highlight the best airports in the world. For the 2026 rankings, AirHelp analyzed data from 279 airports in 76 countries.

BWI Marshall Airport served more than 25 million passengers in 2025 and offers approximately 300 daily nonstop departures to about 90 domestic and international destinations. BWI Marshall Airport generates a total economic impact of $11.3 billion, supporting more than 107,000 jobs across Maryland and the region.

BermudAir Announces Major Expansion

New Service to Turks and Caicos

June 3, 2026- BermudAir, the leading premium leisure carrier to Bermuda and the Caribbean, today announced it will add Belize, Turks and Caicos, and Guatemala City to its route network this winter and expand returning service to Anguilla this winter. Flights will go on sale on Friday.

The airline will inaugurate six new routes to Turks and Caicos service, from Newark (EWR), Boston (BOS), Baltimore-Washington (BWI), Raleigh-Durham (RDU), Fort Lauderdale (FLL) and St Petersburg/Tampa (PIE) and five new routes to Belize, from Boston (BOS), Raleigh-Durham (RDU), Fort Lauderdale (FLL), Orlando (SFB), and St Petersburg/Tampa (PIE), all starting in December*. Returning seasonal service to Anguilla will also be expanded from Newark and Baltimore-Washington, also with a new nonstop service added from St Petersburg/Tampa.

Also, nonstop service will be re-introduced from Fort Lauderdale to Bermuda as well as new direct service will be from Boston to Guatemala City.

Expanded Winter Season
Baltimore-Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport
– Twice-weekly nonstop service to Anguilla, one nonstop (Mondays) and one direct (Thursdays), from December 21 through May 3, 2027;
– Weekly nonstop service to Turks and Caicos (Thursdays), from December 24 through April 29, 2027; and
– Weekly service to Bermuda, from October 26 through May 3, 2027.

BWI Thurgood Marshall Airport Joins Cargo Airline Association

WASHINGTON, DC (May 4, 2026) — Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI) has joined the Cargo Airline Association (CAA) as an Airport Associate member, strengthening its role in the national air cargo network.

“We are pleased to welcome BWI to CAA,” said CAA President Lauren Beyer. “Its growing cargo operations and strategic position in the National Capital Region make it an important addition to our membership. We look forward to working together on key priorities for a safe, efficient, and competitive air cargo system.”

The partnership with CAA underscores BWI’s continued expansion as a key logistics hub. In 2025, the airport handled 567 million pounds of freight, an annual increase of 8%, making it the busiest cargo airport in the Washington–Baltimore region.
