Letter from the Executive Director

Our way of life is changing rapidly, and as we all struggle to wrap our brains around this unsettling time, I want you to know that we are all in this together and that the BWI Business Partnership is here for you!

We truly value each and every one of our members, sponsors, and Board of Director members! We can’t do this without you: if your company is offering services or has helpful information that could potentially benefit our members during these unprecedented times, please share with me or Cate Paris, our Director of Strategic Initiatives, at [email protected] or [email protected], respectively, and we will do our best to help you promote.

At the end of last week, the BWI Business Partnership and other key business organizations sent a letter to the regional Congressional Delegation, insisting that they pass an additional stimulus package for business and workers affected by the Coronavirus. I encourage you to read the letter, which can be found HERE.

We will continue to provide updates on the various Federal, State, and Local resources that are becoming available for your businesses. Be sure to follow us on Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter.

The Partnership is looking forward to our first webinar on the Redevelopment of Annapolis’ Waterfront this Thursday morning starting at 8:30 with City of Annapolis Mayor Gavin Buckley and Eileen Fogarty, Chair of the Annapolis City Dock Action Committee. 80 people have registered already, and with our cap at 100 we are sure to sell out soon! Don't miss out: see the registration details below!

We are pursuing other relevant webinar topics for next month; please stay tuned.

Our April and May Signature Breakfasts, T3’s, and Young Professional Group events have been cancelled.

Currently, the Annual Meeting is still scheduled for June 10th.

Our Port of Baltimore Tour abroad Watermark’s Raven Yacht has been tentatively been rescheduled for Wednesday, July 22nd. It will be a very informative tour, including Domino Sugar, Locust Point, Military Sealift command, Fort McHenry, Cruise Maryland Terminal, Masonville, Seagirt Public terminal, Dundalk, Hawkins Point, Tradepoint Atlantic, Canton, Harbor East and Fells Point - just to name a few!

Maryland Department of Transportation Secretary Greg Slater will be the keynote speaker at our Sept 16th Signature Breakfast.

To quote the British author J.K. Rowling: “We are only as strong as we are united, as weak as we are divided.”

Stay Well, my Friends!
