If your organization is interested in becoming or continuing to be a sponsor, please view the 2019 Sponsorship Package and/or contact Cate Sheehy or Gina Stewart for more information.
The Partnership’s Breakfasts have always been a great opportunity to network with the region's business and government leaders. Why not go the next step and help sponsor a Breakfast. Sponsorship is a great way to highlight your own organization to this influential and prominent group.

Continued Success of County Connector Shuttle
The County Connector lis a free shuttle service for employees and job seekers funded by the Local Development Council of Anne Arundel County, and stops at the BWI Light Rail; BWI MARC/Amtrak Station; Arundel Mills/Live! Casino; Arundel Preserve; and Dorchester Woods.
Ridership has steadily grown since the shuttle's July 1 launch, with October seeing a monthly total of 7,610 riders.
The shuttle operates 365 days a year, 19 hours a day (14 hours on Sundays and Holidays). Riders can download an app that tracks the location of the shuttle on the route, estimates times of arrivals, and provides them with the means to send feedback to the Partnership. Issues or delays in service are effectively communicated through the app, and the Partnership will utilize the technology to identify the most heavily used stops needs of the workforce.
The County Connector street team is currently meeting with human resource managers in the area, educating employees, and exhibiting at job fairs. To arrange a meeting or for more information, please contact the BWI Business Partnership at 410.859.1000 or email email@example.com.

I-495 and I-270 Public-Private Partnership (P3) Program Forum
December 13, 2018 -- The Maryland Department of Transportation (MDOT) is hosting an Industry Forum for the I-495 and I-270 Public-Private Partnership (P3) Program on December 13, 2018 from 8am to 12pm.
The I-495 and I-270 P3 Program will include improvements for over 70 miles of I-495 and I-270 in Maryland. MDOT is currently considering delivering the P3 Program as a series of long-term design-build-finance-operate-maintain revenue risk concessions. Each concession would encompass a portion of the I-495 and I-270 P3 Program and be solicited in phases.
The Industry Forum is a half-day event where MDOT will present the status of the I-495 and I-270 P3 Program and includes an opportunity for developers and prime contractors to engage with firms including small, disadvantaged, minority and women-owned businesses in the P3 solicitation process.
PARTNERSHIP LENDS SUPPORT TO STATE REGARDING OWNERSHIP OF BW PARKWAY
On September 26th, the Partnership reached out to members of the delegation to express its support of efforts to transfer ownership of the federal portion of MD295 to Maryland so our State Government can begin the process of expanding it. The addition of express toll lanes will address issues with traffic flow and will allow for the growth of workforce in the region.
Partnership Foundation Update
Arts in the Armed Forces has forged a partnership with the installation’s Public Affairs Office, SIEGELLAW, and the BWI Business Partnership in order to bring its play reading series to Fort Meade from April 12-13, 2019.
An AITAF visit includes three major elements: at least one reading of a contemporary American play featuring professional,
recognizable actors; an in-depth Q&A with the actors post-performance, and the opportunity for the actors to train in the specialty of the
soldiers while on post. Each part of the experience encourages a true exchange between civilians and members of our armed forces.
The evening of the performance begins with introductions by both the installation and AITAF, followed by the reading of the play, and
then a Q&A with the cast that lasts anywhere between 30-60 minutes. At this particular post, veterans from the surrounding Baltimore
community will also be invited to experience the reading as well.
AITAF is committed to bringing arts programming of the highest quality, and to that end, sustains a level of artistic excellence and
quality through the work we choose and the artists we enlist to participate. All plays chosen reflect the mission of AITAF to present
contemporary American playwrights, but are specifically not military-themed. AITAF works with a casting agency to identify
recognizable, accomplished stage actors who volunteer their time to travel and perform in the readings; the past roster of actors
includes Laura Linney, Christian Slater, Taye Diggs, Jimmi Simpson, Laurence Fishburne, Mark Ruffalo, Keri Russell, and
AITAF programming accentuates the shared humanity of all Americans by using performance to unite artists and service members,
and to encourage dialogue. By offering this reading to the soldiers and veterans in the Ft. Meade area, AITAF aims to:
• Expose the Ft. Meade military community to American performing arts culture
• Bridge the Ft. Meade civilian/military divide by reading non-military themed, thought-provoking plays followed by a lively Q&A
• Arm our Ft. Meade audience with the powerful tool of language to express themselves
• Create an entertaining and stimulating performance that allows the Ft. Meade audience to feel a range of emotions
• Bring together the Ft. Meade military community in a relaxed and inclusive setting.
We are seeking sponsors at the levels below to underwrite the costs of the event. Please contact Cate at firstname.lastname@example.org or 410.859.1000 for more information.
