Precautions Against the Coronavirus

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is responding to an outbreak of respiratory disease caused by a new coronavirus (https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/).

The virus has been named “SARS-CoV-2” and the disease it causes has been named “coronavirus disease 2019” (abbreviated “COVID-19”). Symptoms include fever, cough, and shortness of breath.

What we're doing

The safety of the public and our service providers is a top priority for us. Measures we're taking:

  1. Shuttle interiors are cleaned every day. Full detailing (inside and outside) is performed every two weeks.
  2. All “high-touch” surfaces such as the seats and handlebars are disinfected with Clorox wipes (CDC and  EPA approved disinfectant) every day.
  3. When there are incidents involving body fluid spills, the shuttles are taken to the Maintenance team which cleans and disinfects the area using appropriate cleaning products.
  4. Drivers use Lysol to mitigate any airborne threats during breaks when there are no passengers on-board.

What you can do

We encourage everyone to follow these recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention:

  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. If soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands.
  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
  • Stay home when you are sick.
  • Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.
  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces.
  • If you're experiencing symptoms and have traveled to areas of concern (or have been in contact with someone who has), call ahead to your health-care provider before you go in in person.
